PROGRAM INFORMATION:

• When You Arrive
  Bluegrass Workshop check-in is the afternoon of Sunday, August 22nd & August 29th.
  
  • Please do not arrive the night before expecting to camp at Sorrento Centre unless you've made previous arrangements. A few people try this every year, and it always causes confusion with campsites and problems with Sorrento Centre, which does not allow early arrivals except with special pre-approval. The Sorrento Centre staff are careful to only allow registered participants onsite, which is in everyone's best interest, and they're not equipped to check in anyone before Sunday. There are plenty of campsites along the drive to Sorrento if you're in the area early.
    
  • When you arrive, we'll help you find your accommodation. Plan to give yourself time to settle in before the ORIENTATION at 4:00 pm. You'll get together with your seminar leader to discuss the week's activities, play a little music and confirm that the level you have chosen is right for you. All participants are invited to the opening night burger barbecue. After dinner you can join one of the bluegrass jam circles - including our famous SLOW PITCH JAM - a supportive way for beginners to experience the joy of playing together.
• Seminars
  Pre-register for ONE SEMINAR ONLY and attend it for TWO SESSIONS EACH DAY. The most important thing you can do is register for an appropriate seminar to your skill/experience level, and though it can be tempting, please do not sign up for the wrong level just to study with a particular seminar leader. Monday through Thursday, the morning session runs from 9:30 AM until 11:30 AM; the afternoon session is from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM. Seminar leaders schedule breaks as they see fit.
• Afternoons
  After lunch a series of optional SPECIAL INTEREST WORKSHOPS are open to all participants. These include instrument and singing workshops and a variety of other sessions that reflect the interests and skills of our seminar leaders. The first session is from 2:00 to 3:00 PM, with another batch of workshops from 3:00 to 4:00 PM.
• Evenings
  Evenings are filled with CONCERTS, our famous BAND SCRAMBLE, and OLD TIME DANCE, and a STUDENT CONCERT. Following evening snacks, you can join in organized bluegrass jams including the nightly SLOW PITCH JAM. There will also be organized intermediate and old time jams, as well as plenty of informal pickin' in the campground.
• Friday Morning
  After breakfast Friday morning, the workshop winds up with a one hour seminar meeting, camp cleanup and last minute goodbyes.
